We going up to LA for the first time since we had arrived in SD.  My brother was throwing a surprise birthday for his gf.  And it was the first time to meet her. So I thought I could make something for her. Chocolate cake pops shaped like the moon with tiny stars! Happy Birthday Jessica! And while we were up there visiting family, I also made some for my sister's birthday which we had missed a week earlier. Happy Birthday Maki!

The theme of London's 5th Birthday: Princess Sofia the First.  I received a request to make a large 9x13 birthday cake in the shape of the number 5, with colors to match the Princess Sofia the First theme, decorated with 10 purple and white stars around the cake.  The starred cake looked a bit lonely, so the night before the cake was due, I added a bonus tiara as a cake topper. And ended up making 40 stars (yes, I got carried away, but they were so cute!). Happy 5th Birthday, Princess London!

I received a rush order to make a birthday cake for a son's 12th birthday.  Since he is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, I gave a few options and we decided on a 3D football cake.  I baked two 9x13 inch layers of Vanilla Butter cake with Vanilla Buttercream filling, covered with Fondant icing. The lettering was hand cut out, stenciled from the Cowboys font that I found online.  Wanted to make it look as close to Dallas Cowboys as possible.  Cutting out all of the letters, stars, and #'s from paper, tracing them onto the fondant & cutting them out with a petty knife took 3.5 hours, but it was well worth it! Started baking from 8 a.m., let the cake layers cool, frosted the layers from 2 p.m., shaped the cake into a football, colored the fondant & rolled it out, cut out all of the letters, then assembled the decorations.  The cake was completed by 9 p.m.! Happy 12th Birthday, Darius!              ...
