I received a call and email from someone who said she had searched 15 bakeries in the area only to receive a "No" regarding making her a custom boxing cake for her friend's birthday.  Almost about to give up, she found me on yelp. When I picked up the phone & she gave me a short description of her cake, I asked her to email me a photo with some details that she required on the cake.  I said "Yes," to the design and she was overjoyed.

I can't imagine going to 15 different places and being persistent to find someone to make a custom cake, but that just shows how much she cares to make her friend's birthday memorable and I'm sure glad that she did!

My first daughter, Claire, turned 3 this year!  I can still remember her birth, arriving 17 days early and the best Mother's Day gift ever! When trying to decide what theme to choose for this year's birthday, we were debating over several characters.  She was so excited every time she watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, we decided it would be perfect for both genders as it included all the characters.  She found a cute Minnie Mouse outfit at walmart and so it was decided and the planning began! Claire has been my sweet sunshine and mommy's little helper when it comes to baking.  She helped to measure and mix the ingredients to make her chocolate Minnie Mouse Cake and her Mickey & Minnie Mouse Cake Pops!  She may not be the best decorator, but she is the best at making sure every crumb is accounted for.  I love you, my Claire Bear! MAC Makeup & Gift Bag Cake

After 14 months of saving up not-quite-yet-enough-$, my family and I will be traveling to Los Angeles for Thanksgiving, then off to Tahiti for my sister-in-law's wedding, and back to Los Angeles to spend the rest of December/Christmas/New Year Day with family & friends! My first flight in 14 months since we've moved here to VA last September; we are way overdue! But before I start my dreaded packing , I received my last cake request this week:  Bouncing around ideas for a girly birthday, my client sent me some photos of a MAC makeup cake.  So here it is!
